Superfund, Brownfields & Hazardous Waste Sites

Dealing with hazardous waste is a frequent occurrence on development projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. This has become even more the case as Brownfield initiatives have become part of the regular development process.  Brownfields are abandoned or inactive industrial sites potentially contaminated with pollutants. Current estimates show there may be as many as 450,000 Brownfield sites across the country. As continued suburban sprawl has become a nationwide issue, reclaiming and redeveloping Brownfields has gained prominence and importance.

Richard Grubb & Associates (RGA) is uniquely qualified to assist developers and government agencies with cultural resource compliance activities associated with their Brownfield, HAZMAT, and Superfund projects.  In addition to having full-service cultural resource capabilities, RGA’s staff also includes professionals trained and certified to work on hazardous waste sites. RGA has also undertaken numerous projects for public and private clients that have involved hazardous wastes, including: landfills, Superfund sites, sewer replacements, and land reclamations. By retaining RGA, clients can avoid valuable downtime in the compliance process by eliminating delays when it is determined that projects have hazardous components.
